Our music program couldn't function without the support of our awesome community of parents and friends! Our mission is to encourage, promote and support the activities of our school's outstanding music program for the benefit of all music students.
All band families are encouraged to become members of the FSK IMB. Membership allows you to have a voice at booster meetings through making motions, participating in discussions, and voting for or against certain measures. Membership is free!
Meetings take place the first Monday of each month (unless school is closed, so please check the calendar!) at 6:30 pm and are usually held in the band room. Mr. Duffy usually sends out an email reminder to all parents. Come to all or just a few. We always welcome new faces!
FSK IMB provides financial support in the areas of adjunct instruction, program design, contest fees, transportation costs, various equipment items, and scholarships, just to name a few. Financial updates on the booster club are provided at each booster meeting.
Without parent volunteers, many services provided to the students would not be there. During summer band camp, we have parent volunteers to help measure students for uniforms. For fall marching band season, parents volunteer their time making props for our shows, chaperoning competitions and helping load and unload our band trailer. At football games, parents help with the ticket booth, 50/50 raffles and assist moving equipment at halftime. All parents are encouraged to volunteer for at least one activity per year! And it’s fun, too - helping these kids achieve musical excellence and making new friends is just the tip of the iceberg.
Per CCPS regulations, every parent wanting to actively assist must complete a Volunteer Registration Form prior to chaperoning or volunteering. This form can be found at: https://ext.carrollk12.org/volunteerext/
An Executive Board is elected in May of each year. The Executive Board consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. These positions serve directly along with the band director and in the organization of the entire boosters group to make the best possible decisions for the advancement of our program.
Officers for the 2022-2023 school year are:

Secretary - Sabrina Slimmer
Those who have watched parades and field show competitions and experienced the positive effects gained from being a part of this group say that it’s VERY addictive!
