CLICK ME! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

If your child is part of the band program, you are! All current parents or guardians and family members, as well as alumni/parents of alumni are strongly encouraged to become actively involved. We welcome people without student connection to the program as well! Everyone is welcome to work together to support and improve the instrumental music program for our children. 

• Contribute your time and energy to actively make a difference in your student’s musical education.
• Support your student’s proud accomplishments at football games and competitions.
• Parental involvement is the key to any successful learning environment.
• Gain first-hand knowledge into your student’s education.

• Spend time with your child.
• Keep “in the know” as to what’s going on in our program.
• Be involved in activities that enrich the band program.
• Share music with students that you may not have otherwise been able to experience.
• Help ensure that fine arts programs, like the band, are not taken from the school curriculum.
• Be a part of decisions that direct the future success of the band.
• Be a part of a program that you and your student can be proud of.
• Band is fun – for students and adult volunteers! 

Meetings take place the first Monday of each month (unless school is closed, so please check the calendar!) at 6:30 pm and are usually held in the band room. Mr. Duffy usually sends out an email reminder to all parents. Come to all or just a few. We always welcome new faces! 

FSK IMB provides financial support in the areas of adjunct instruction, program design, contest fees, transportation costs, various equipment items, and scholarships, just to name a few. Financial updates on the booster club are provided at each booster meeting.

Without parent or guardian volunteers, many services provided to the students would not be there. Booster volunteers provide support and manpower for any and all instrumental music-related events not limited to fundraisers, marching band (football games, competitions and parades), color guard, winter and spring concerts, biennial trips and socials.

All parents or guardians are encouraged to volunteer for at least one activity per year! And it’s fun, too - helping these kids achieve musical excellence and making new friends is just the tip of the iceberg.

Per CCPS regulations, every person wanting to actively assist must complete a Volunteer Registration Form prior to chaperoning or volunteering. This form can be found at:  https://ext.carrollk12.org/volunteerext/

An Executive Board is elected in May of each year. The Executive Board consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary. These positions serve directly along with the Band Director and in the organization of the entire boosters group to make the best possible decisions for the advancement of our program.

Officers for the 2024-2025 school year are:

Financial Secretary - Tina Mahon

Those who have watched parades and field show competitions and experienced the positive effects gained from being a part of this group say that it’s VERY addictive!
