If you answered yes to any of these questions, then FSK Guard is for you!

We are currently recruiting for the 2025-2026 school year! If you're interested in color guard, why not stop by and see what we're all about!

We meet every Thursday evening through the end of school in June in the band room at FSK HS from 6-7:30pm. Student drop off and pick up is at the lower lot at FSK and the band room is red door #26. No experience needed! Bring water, your hard-working energy and a friend, too!

So what is color guard, exactly? Color guard (or Guard, for short) is now often referred to as “The Sport of the Arts”! It is traditionally the visual representation of the music. Modern color guards use flags, rifles, sabers, swing flags and other pieces of equipment pertaining to the music, as well as a mix of dance styles. Beyond the performance, color guard is a great extracurricular activity which is fantastic exercise, allows for travel, shows school spirit, and most importantly is a ton of FUN!

Example practice schedule: For the 2023 fall marching season, practices started mid-June and ran every Wednesday and Thursday evenings during the summer before camps. After camps, practices were every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Students were also expected to attend one full day of Guard Camp, two weeks of Band Camp, and all performances. Please visit our Calendar of Events for a list of all practices and performances!

The marching band and color guard perform at local parades, home football games and statewide marching band competitions.
